Supreme Court of Mississippi

April 20, 2015

EDDIE MCCOY, JR. A/K/A EDDIE W. MCCOY, JR. A/K/A WAYNE MCCOY A/K/A EDDIE WAYNE MCCOY, JR. A/K/A EDDIE MCCOY, Appellant
v.
STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, Appellee

ORDER

DAVID ANTHONY CHANDLER, JUSTICE.

This matter is before the undersigned Justice on the pleading styled Appellant's Voluntary Dismissal of Petition for Writ of Certiorari filed by Eddie McCoy, Jr., pro se. On October 21, 2014, the Mississippi Court of Appeals affirmed McCoy's conviction and sentence. See McCoy v. State, 160 So.3d 705, 2014 WL 5333838 (Miss. Ct. App. 2014). On March 17, 2015, the Court of Appeals denied McCoy's motion for rehearing. On March 31, 2015, McCoy filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari in this Court. McCoy now seeks " voluntary dismissal" of that petition. After due consideration, the undersigned Justice finds that this pleading is well-taken and should be granted.

IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the pleading styled Appellant's Voluntary Dismissal of Petition for Writ of Certiorari filed by Eddie McCoy, Jr., pro se, is hereby granted.
