Khristopher Hearron was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in violation of Miss. Code Ann. § 41-29-139(c) (Rev. 1993) and sentenced to serve six years in the state penitentiary. From this judgment and sentence he appeals and raises the following assignments of error:
